this is the first year that i did not decorate for easter
and it made me sad
the down side to listing your home
no extra knick knacks or doo hickeys should be displayed (insert sad face).
hopefully we will be moved out by 4th of july. yes i decorate for that too...
but the non decor didn't put a damper on our easter spirits

i wish we could have a vacation home there
that's how much i love it
but college for my two is much more important
so for now it'll be my dream
the last leg of our journey brought us to the sunny desert

always lucky when we head to l.a. for a visit.
lucky as in always good weather and rarely traffic (miracle!)
we always travel heavy. always.
we took our itty'st bitty'st mexi too.
rode for miles and miles
cruised the boardwalk
had air hockey tournaments
spent way too much money on arcarde roulette...
smuggled in a chihuahua
and most importantly - we survived this.
no ambulance, no e.r., no doctor. just a handsome fireman who took real good care of all of us.

Our first day in the city started bright & early.
4:15 for Sergio. 4:30 for me.
The girls were roused by 4:45
By 6:55 we were in the air & a short hour later we were bound for Union Square.
We all enjoyed a yummy lunch down at the Fisherman's Wharf.
I'm guessing the girls favorite part of the day was riding the trolley cars around the city.
Scratch that.
It was shopping.
Our first time in Chinatown was super successful.
Fans, shoes, dresses, pandas. All were purchased and the pandas were especially loved.

At the end of the day we found ourselves visiting the surrounding hotels. Taking in their holiday decor. Gazing at the grand christmas trees & the lovely gingerbread houses.
Day one in the city R-O-C-K-E-D!
my home was quiet & blissful & busy.
quiet because the girls were busy playing with their toys.
blissful mommy - i got to just sit back and watch them enjoy eachother company.

we try to have a party on christmas eve.
this was our third.
lots of prep goes into throwing a party at your house.

christmas morning came to our home in full force.
luckily i got one picture in.
maybe two.
i know, i know.
bad mama.
but i blame it on the party the night before.
who leaves a party @ 2am? apparently our friends do. but it's all good. it was a blast. i had the war wounds to prove it. sergio too.
i don't think santa missed a thing.
the go go walking dogs were a hit.
as were the plastic multi colored hermit crabs.
the girls got a kick out of this game. especially because they know papa & i used to play this once upon a time.
later in the day we headed to the fire station for some company & good eats.
coco helped with the mashing of the papas.
she also assisted with the eating of cookies. lots of cookies.
it was a long, wonderful, festive, calendar packed month.
looking forward to winding down & enjoying all the new things 2012 will bring.
Day two was greeted bright & early with a visit to our favorite breakfast spot.
ok so we had breakfast there all three days. Yes it's that good. And luckily we hit it at all the right times. Being the Holidays the line was continaully out the door and up the street. Early mornings sometimes aren't so bad.
The mega hit was the strawberry waffles. Who doesn't love a boatload of whipped cream?
after filling our bellies we walked through Chinatown (not recommended on a Sunday) & headed towards Coit Tower.
the walk was long and a bit torturous for some.
but after a quick snack & an elevator ride all the steep hills were forgotten. we were fixed on the view & beauty of what was before us.
each itty bitty walked away with a flattened penny.
we continued on to Pier 39 for some seal watching.
Not much to report for most of them were not lounging on the docks.
after picking up a street monkey we headed back to our room for a break.
