i felt like i got hit by a truck
not a hot wheel
i'm talkin a mack truck
rarely am i down for the count
but this 3 day bug hit me with all it's might
projectile vomit - check
chills - tremors - sweats - repeat - check
icky burps - check
dizzy spells - check
no saltines in the house - check
no 7 up either - check
neighborhood 7/11 closed for remodel - check
husband working a 72 hours shift - check
kids bored out of their mind - check
i had two things save me.
1. my dad called early morning enroute to us with donuts, he woke the girls, dressed em, fed em & drove them to school.
2. coco. she was my nurse. you see i couldn't get out of bed without feeling like i was gonna fall on my face - and what did my sweet soul lover do. the thing only a 5 year old can when mama is bedridden and hasn't eaten all day...
bring cheerios and place her itty bitty palm on my forehead and tell me she's in the toy room if i need her.
i'm happy to say i am on the upswing. and my first meal of choice after not eating for a few days was a bean and cheese...

Goodness gracious! Sergio is never lucky when it comes to visits to the Dentist office. Poor boy. After a week of horrible pain he was relieved of it, but not before being poked and prodded a little more. After 1 1/2 hours of trying to pull a molar Dr. Winn was successful. 9 shots of Novocain later he was dubbed the "toothless mexi", compliments of Coco.
I made sure he brought that prime piece of real estate home. Now it is shown when the girls protest or complain about brushing their teeth.

Here is a follow up to my previous "Cootie"posting. (Scroll down for the first post).
I for sure thought I was in the clear. 48 hours no sickness. I cleaned the sheets, aired out the house, grabbed the can of lysol & returned all the movies.
Well I should have known. Fire guy returns to work and (dun, dun, dun, dun.....) Cootie Bug Radar ACTIVATED! En route to dinner on the freeway (4:30 traffic no less) Coco arches her back screeches something about her belly hurting (she answers no to the "Do you have gas?" question) then BAM! Projectile strawberries. Damn you Cootie & your dumb radar!
But that is not all. Apparently the ONE strawberry Gia ate did not sit well. She puffed up and out (remember Prince Naveen's butler? The one from Princess & The Frog - he went undercover as Prince Naveen but when the potion wore off he began to puff out and into himself. Big ears, big lips, big head, etc? - well that was Gia) her eyes got big, pink & puffy followed by a welty chin and then continued to quickly spread to her ear, but only the right one (we are talking cage fighter swollen). Being the first time she's had this sort of reaction to a berry I gunned it to the Doctors. Apparently Cootie Bug's radar works on red lights to, because you know I hit every single one from San Marcos all the way to Encinitas. After 60 minutes and one examination the benedryl & calamine lotion did the trick. Now I am currently gearing up for another night of snuggling (and being kidney punched) with my two little ladies. Coco on my left with a bucket on the night stand. Gia on my right with my ear on high alert listening to her breathe. We are officially in round two. Bring it Cootie!
Sweet Dreams.
This is us rolling down the highway. Empty cup for puking purposes
First cootie post:
I am convinced of this... When the cootie bug wants to visit us - his radar kicks in and only comes into our home when Sergio is at work. This I am certain of. I've been doing some research on this home invading cootie.
For example:
And now we are here, present day and Cootie galore waits until Fireman is away. Gia's belly hurts. Hurts so bad she can't get out of the car to even pick a movie. Us Mama's know how bad it is when they can't muster the strength to pick out a cartoon.
Fast forward 96 hours. My days have consisted of 47 movies (o.k. exaggerating a bit but it feels like that many), lots of bleach, lots more laundry, many wipes of the hands, mouth & butt (I am the designated wiper). And I think (fingers crossed) we may be in the clear. I guess that is until my littlest Coconut catches the cootie, which will definitely be because CB's radar went off indicating Fire guy is at work. Although down in the health category we are just happy it is not a worse case of the cootie. And I was paid a very nice made, my eyes well up compliment by my curly haired patient.
Verbatim, "Mama I want to be a kid forever so I can always be with you."
Speaking of, I'm off to check on her this very minute.

Yes it is that time of year again. I'm 5 days late in the resolution goal making. And it's because I've been thinking very hard about what I expect out of myself this year. And I've come up with one thing. Yes one. That way I won't be all down in the dumps if I make one long list and find myself a failure come December 2011. So short and sweet.......
myself. In any way I see fit. Mentally, physically, emotionally. If I do that just once a month I know I'll feel better on the inside. January's challenge is to make more healthy family meals. Less already made and a heavy hand on the "from scratch". I'll keep you posted.
